Creating new lights poses the question of context, history and above all the relationship between the object and city’s different materials and textures.
This light is part of a decorative tradition dating back to the 19th century, a context that is still very present in the city of Marseille.
The light was conceived in terms of a jewel, something precious, an object with a strong presence both in the day and at night.
Glass was used to enhance the quality. During the day it provides the lamp with a discrete presence; at night, it is enhanced by the diffused light.
The shape and materials belong to domestic sphere.
